One of the difficulty with starting a Drupal website is the lack of diversity in available themes. There has always been more choice in the WordPress world for themes. Maybe, just maybe, Drupal could use WordPress themes and get the best of both worlds?
A few months ago I started working on WordPal, a module that would make it possible to convert WordPress block themes into Drupal themes. It was very rough back then, and now it works. The results are pretty good, better than I would have expected. That's a testament to the WordPress block themes if anything. If you're curious I have a whole gallery of what it looks like for all the 1800+ WordPress block themes, at the WordPal Gallery.
To try it out without installing anything, I have some instructions to follow. Here is a short version that works on mac/linux, check the previous link for the windows version.
mkdir my-site && cd my-site
curl -fsSL https://drupack.tresbien.tech/demo.sh | sh
./drupacked-demo
./drupacked-demo drush wpc twentytwentyfour
If there are curious I might make a blog post about the implementation, for now I just want to get that out there before I go on holidays :)
